Deana focuses her practice on veterans’ law and elder law matters. She is an accredited attorney with the Veterans Administration and is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and South Carolina. Prior to joining Piemonte Law Firm, Deana gained valuable legal experience as a student attorney representing clients in various aspects of Elder Law, working as an intern for the 26th Judicial District Family Court Administrator’s Office, working as a teaching assistant for the legal writing department at Charlotte School of Law and serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Calvin E. Murphy, Special Superior Court Judge for Complex Business Cases in North Carolina.
Deana is a native of Point Pleasant, New Jersey and has lived in Charlotte since 1991. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and spent thirteen years working in sales and sales management in the consumer products industry. Deana obtained her Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from the Charlotte School of Law. At Charlotte Law she was inducted into the Order of the Crown Academic Honor Society, was the Secretary of the Christian Legal Society and worked as a legal writing teaching assistant for two years.
Deana is a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, and the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (“NOVA”).
Deana has been married to her husband, Mark, for twenty three years and has two school-aged children. Outside of the office Deana enjoys spending time with her family in the mountains, participating in her book club, and attending the University of South Carolina football games. She is active in her church community and her children’s school community, serving as the President of the Parent Teacher Organization in 2009-2010.
